Description
These red, white, and blue fruit kabobs are a festive, healthy, and beginner-friendly treat perfect for patriotic holidays or fun family snacks.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pint strawberries
- 1 pint blueberries
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 24 bamboo skewers
Instructions
- Wash and dry the strawberries and blueberries thoroughly to remove any moisture.
- Trim the stems off the strawberries and cut them into chunks similar in size to the marshmallows and blueberries for consistency.
- Take a skewer and begin threading the ingredients in this order: one piece of strawberry, one mini marshmallow, and one blueberry. Repeat this pattern until the skewer is nearly full.
- Repeat the process with the remaining skewers until all ingredients are used.
- Place the completed fruit kabobs on a serving platter or in an airtight container. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. They are best enjoyed within 24 hours.
Notes
- Use firm, ripe fruit to prevent sogginess or slipping on the skewer.
- To make the kabobs healthier, substitute marshmallows with banana slices or cubed angel food cake.
- If preparing in advance, store kabobs in an airtight container in the fridge and consume within 24 hours.
- Soaking wooden skewers in water before use can help prevent splintering.
