Description

A festive and easy American Flag Layered Taco Dip made with refried beans, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, tomatoes, and black olives. Perfect for patriotic holidays and beginner cooks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 32 ounces refried beans
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (1.5 oz)
  • 2 cups guacamole
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 cups diced tomatoes
  • 2.25 ounces sliced black olives

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the refried beans and taco seasoning. Stir until smooth and well mixed.
  2. Spread the bean mixture evenly across the bottom of a 13×9 inch baking dish using a spatula.
  3. Gently layer the guacamole over the beans, being careful not to mix the layers.
  4. Spread a smooth, even layer of sour cream over the guacamole with a light hand.
  5. Use diced tomatoes to create red stripes, mozzarella cheese for white stripes, and black olives for the star field of the American flag design.
  6. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving to help the layers set and flavors meld.

Notes

  • Use homemade or store-bought taco seasoning and guacamole depending on preference and time.
  • Layer ingredients gently to maintain clean visual separation between each layer.
  • Refrigerating the dip before serving enhances the flavor and texture.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator and consume within 1–2 days for best results.
