Ingredients
Scale
- 32 ounces refried beans
- 1 packet taco seasoning (1.5 oz)
- 2 cups guacamole
- 2 cups sour cream
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3 cups diced tomatoes
- 2.25 ounces sliced black olives
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the refried beans and taco seasoning. Stir until smooth and well mixed.
- Spread the bean mixture evenly across the bottom of a 13×9 inch baking dish using a spatula.
- Gently layer the guacamole over the beans, being careful not to mix the layers.
- Spread a smooth, even layer of sour cream over the guacamole with a light hand.
- Use diced tomatoes to create red stripes, mozzarella cheese for white stripes, and black olives for the star field of the American flag design.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving to help the layers set and flavors meld.
Notes
- Use homemade or store-bought taco seasoning and guacamole depending on preference and time.
- Layer ingredients gently to maintain clean visual separation between each layer.
- Refrigerating the dip before serving enhances the flavor and texture.
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator and consume within 1–2 days for best results.
