Description

Baked Cream Cheese Chicken features tender chicken breasts smothered in a creamy garlic sauce made from cream cheese, garlic, chicken broth, and paprika, creating a rich and comforting meal.   • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (optional, for topping)
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or olive oil.
  2. Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Pour in the chicken broth and simmer for 1-2 minutes to reduce slightly.
  5. Add softened cream cheese to the skillet and stir until smooth. Add fresh chives and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Place the seared chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish and pour the cream cheese sauce over them, ensuring they are well coated. Optionally, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  7. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Broil for 2-3 minutes at the end for a golden, cheesy top.
  8. Let the dish rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add crispy bacon crumbles on top before baking.
  • If you prefer, substitute chicken thighs for a juicier option.
  • This dish can be made ahead by searing the chicken and preparing the sauce, then refrigerating it until ready to bake.
