Description

Classic Christmas Cranberry Sauce is a festive and easy-to-make sauce that combines the tartness of fresh cranberries with the sweetness of sugar and the zest of oranges. It’s the perfect addition to your holiday meals, adding both flavor and color to your plate.


Ingredients

  • Fresh Cranberries: 12 oz
  • Sugar: 1 cup
  • Orange Zest: 1 tbsp
  • Water: 1 cup
  • Cinnamon Stick: 1
  • Cloves: 2-3 whole
  • Orange Juice: 1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. Rinse the fresh cranberries and remove any damaged ones.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, orange zest, and water. Stir and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. The cranberries will start to burst.
  4. Add orange juice and cloves. Stir and continue simmering for another 5-10 minutes until thickened to desired consistency.
  5. Remove from heat, discard cinnamon stick and cloves. Let the sauce cool to room temperature or refrigerate for later use.

  • Make ahead: You can make this cranberry sauce up to 5 days in advance.
  • Sweetness adjustment: If you prefer a sweeter sauce, add more sugar or orange juice to taste.
