Description
These Crock Pot Honey Garlic Chicken Wings are tender, flavorful, and perfect for beginners. Slow-cooked in a sweet and savory glaze, then broiled for crispiness.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 pounds chicken wings
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 clove minced garlic
Instructions
- Spray a 3½ to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray or lightly grease it with oil.
- Season the chicken wings with salt and pepper, then place them in the slow cooker in a single layer as much as possible.
- In a bowl, whisk together the honey, vegetable oil, ketchup, and minced garlic until smooth.
- Pour the honey-garlic mixture evenly over the chicken wings, coating them well.
- Cover and cook on high for 1 hour. Then reduce heat to low and cook for 4–5 more hours until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
- Preheat the oven broiler and line a baking sheet with foil. Transfer wings to the sheet with tongs or a slotted spoon.
- Broil the wings about 3 inches from the heat for 3–4 minutes per side until browned and slightly crispy.
- Serve warm with extra sauce from the slow cooker for dipping.
Notes
- Broiling enhances crispiness but can be skipped if needed.
- Use thawed wings for more even cooking.
- Maple syrup or agave can replace honey.
- Olive oil or melted butter can substitute for vegetable oil.
- Add chili flakes or hot sauce to spice it up.
