Description

A quick, comforting beef and noodles recipe featuring lean ground beef, egg noodles, and a savory homemade gravy. Perfect for busy weeknights and beginner cooks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups uncooked egg noodles
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 23 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook egg noodles until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until beef is browned and onion is soft, about 8–10 minutes.
  3. Reduce heat to medium and stir in minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and Italian seasoning. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the beef mixture and stir continuously for 1–2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
  5. Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Scrape up browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  6. Continue to cook the mixture for 5–8 minutes until the gravy thickens to desired consistency. Add more broth if needed.
  7. Add cooked noodles to the skillet and toss to coat in the beef and gravy. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use frozen chopped onions and pre-minced garlic to speed up prep time.
  • Add vegetables like mushrooms or bell peppers for extra nutrition and flavor.
  • If gravy is too thick, add a splash of broth; if too thin, simmer longer.
  • Use ground turkey or chicken as a leaner protein alternative.
