Description

Fluffy Hawaiian sweet rolls filled with creamy garlic cheese, baked to golden perfection with a buttery garlic glaze. Perfect for beginners and ready in 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tbsp green onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced (for filling)
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt (for filling)
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped (for butter)
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced (for butter)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (for butter)
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Allow the cream cheese to come to room temperature for easy mixing.
  2. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, mozzarella, green onion, parsley, garlic, onion powder, salt, and sugar. Mix thoroughly until smooth.
  3. Transfer the filling to a piping bag or ziplock bag with the corner snipped off. Set aside.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, parsley, and salt to make the garlic butter.
  5. Make a crosscut on each roll, slicing about halfway down to divide into four connected sections.
  6. Fill each crosscut with the cream cheese mixture using the piping bag or a spoon.
  7. Brush garlic butter over the tops of the stuffed rolls.
  8. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 13–15 minutes or until golden brown and the filling is melted.
  9. Remove from oven, brush with any remaining garlic butter, and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Serve warm.

Notes

  • If cream cheese is too stiff, microwave it in 10-second intervals to soften.
  • Use a spoon if you don’t have a piping or ziplock bag.
  • Tent with foil during baking if the tops brown too quickly.
  • Filling can be made up to 3 days ahead and refrigerated.
