Description

Halloween Swirl Cream Cheese Brownies are a spooky, fun, and delicious treat combining a rich chocolate brownie base with a creamy orange cheesecake swirl. Perfect for Halloween parties or family gatherings, these brownies offer a delightful twist on traditional brownies with an irresistible flavor combination.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • ½ cup all-purpose white flour
  • ½ cup Hershey’s Special Dark cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese, at room temperature
  • ¼ cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Orange food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper. Lightly spray with non-stick spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine granulated sugar, flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Reserve ¼ cup of the batter for the swirl.
  5. Spread the remaining brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  7. Add the orange food coloring to the cream cheese mixture, stirring until the color is well distributed.
  8. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter in the baking dish.
  9. Drop spoonfuls of the reserved brownie batter on top and swirl gently with a skewer or knife.
  10. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until the brownies are set and a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing to prevent the cream cheese layer from smearing.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days.
  • These brownies freeze well. Wrap each brownie individually in plastic wrap and store in a freezer bag for up to 3 months.
  • If using a box brownie mix, choose a smaller box to fit the 8×8-inch pan size.
  • Feel free to swap the orange food coloring for different colors for other holidays or occasions.
