Description
A creamy and comforting one-pan homemade beef stroganoff that’s perfect for beginners. Made with ground beef, egg noodles, and a tangy sour cream sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (if needed)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces egg noodles
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (optional, for thickening)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add ground beef, increase heat to medium-high, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Stir in paprika and flour (if using), then cook for 1 more minute.
- Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer. Add egg noodles and stir to combine.
- Cover and reduce heat to medium-low. Cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until noodles are tender.
- Remove from heat and stir in Worcestershire sauce and sour cream. Mix until creamy and well combined.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
- Use lean ground beef to avoid excess grease.
- Greek yogurt can be used in place of sour cream for a lighter option.
- Smoked paprika adds extra depth of flavor if available.
- To thicken sauce, use flour or a cornstarch slurry.
- Add a splash of broth when reheating leftovers to restore creaminess.
