Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the baking powder and flour. Set aside.
- Using an electric mixer, beat the butter until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs, sugar, and almond extract. Mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture and combine until just mixed. Do not overmix. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Once chilled, scoop the dough into small balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes until they are set. Allow the cookies to cool completely.
- For the icing, combine powdered sugar and milk in a bowl until smooth. Add almond extract for flavor.
- Dip each cooled cookie into the glaze and place on a cooling rack. Sprinkle with nonpareil sprinkles before the glaze sets.
