Description

A hearty and flavorful fusion dish combining Italian sausage, egg noodles, and bell peppers in a rich tomato and white wine sauce. Perfect for beginner cooks seeking quick and comforting meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Ground Italian Sausage
  • 16 ounces Egg Noodles, cooked al dente
  • 2 medium Green Peppers, diced
  • 28 ounces Diced Tomatoes (with juice)
  • 3 teaspoons Garlic, freshly minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
  • 1/2 cup White Cooking Wine
  • Parmesan Cheese, grated
  • Fresh Parsley, chopped
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the Italian sausage and diced bell peppers together until the sausage is browned and the peppers are softened.
  2. Lower the heat to medium and stir in the Italian seasoning and freshly minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the white cooking wine, scraping the bottom of the skillet. Let it simmer until the liquid reduces by half.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes with their juice and stir to combine into a rustic sauce.
  5. Sprinkle in the dried basil along with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer gently for about 5 minutes.
  6. Fold in the cooked egg noodles and gently mix until evenly coated and heated through.
  7. Top with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Substitute chicken broth and lemon juice for wine if avoiding alcohol.
  • Use sweet, spicy, or plant-based sausage to suit dietary preferences.
  • Don’t overcook noodles—al dente texture holds up better in sauce.
  • Make the sauce ahead and add noodles fresh for best results.
  • Vegetarian version: Skip sausage and use mushrooms or extra veggies.
