Description

Jalapeno Poppers with Cheddar Cheese are the perfect appetizer that combines the heat of fresh jalapenos with the creamy richness of cheddar cheese and the savory crunch of bacon. These easy-to-make poppers are perfect for parties, game day, or as a tasty snack any time of the day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 Jalapeno peppers, halved and seeds removed
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 3 tablespoons crushed chips (any variety, like plain or BBQ)
  • Optional: Fresh cilantro, chives, or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium-high heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and place on a paper towel to drain excess grease.
  3. In a bowl, mix the grated cheddar cheese, softened cream cheese, and crumbled bacon until well combined.
  4. Cut the jalapenos in half and remove the seeds. Fill each half with the cheese and bacon mixture.
  5. Place the stuffed jalapenos on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
  6. Sprinkle crushed chips on top of the baked poppers for added crunch and flavor. Garnish with fresh herbs like cilantro or parsley if desired.
  7. Serve immediately with a side of ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.

Notes

  • Be careful when handling jalapenos; wearing gloves is recommended to avoid irritation from the peppers.
  • To make ahead, prepare the poppers and refrigerate them until you’re ready to bake.
  • For a spicier version, leave some of the seeds in the jalapenos or add hot sauce to the cheese mixture.
  • These poppers are great for serving at parties, BBQs, or as a fun snack for game day.
