Description

Pineapple Bliss Bars are a tropical dessert featuring a tangy pineapple cream filling over a buttery crust, perfect for beginners and quick to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 can (15 oz) crushed pineapple, well-drained
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix flour and sugar. Cut in softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press the crust mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. Bake the crust for about 15 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and set aside.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine drained crushed pineapple, sour cream, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  5. Pour the pineapple mixture evenly over the pre-baked crust and spread it out with a spatula.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is slightly jiggly. Let the bars cool completely in the pan.
  7. Once cool, dust with powdered sugar, slice into squares, and serve.

Notes

  • Ensure pineapple is well-drained to avoid a soggy crust.
  • For a gluten-free version, use a 1:1 gluten-free baking flour.
  • Chilling the bars before slicing helps achieve cleaner cuts.
  • Coconut cream or plant-based sour cream can be used as dairy-free alternatives.
