Description

Reindeer Cupcakes are the ultimate festive treat—fun, easy to make, and perfect for holiday parties, classroom celebrations, or a sweet addition to Santa’s cookie plate. Featuring chocolate antlers, red noses, and charming reindeer faces, these cupcakes are as delightful to look at as they are to eat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Cupcakes: use your favorite chocolate or vanilla recipe or boxed mix
  • 1 small box of pudding mix (optional, for moist cupcakes)
  • 1 extra egg (optional, when using box mix)
  • Festive cupcake liners
  • Chocolate candy melts: for making antlers
  • Wilton red icing: for the nose
  • Wilton brown icing: for frosting the cupcake top
  • Wilton black decorator icing: for the eyes
  • Eyeball sprinkles (optional): for easy eyes
  • Red peanut butter M&Ms (optional): as a nose alternative
  • Parchment paper: for shaping antlers
  • Disposable decorating bags
  • Wilton #4 and #10 piping tips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with festive liners.
  2. Prepare cupcake batter using your favorite recipe or box mix. If using a mix, add one small box of pudding and an extra egg for moisture.
  3. Use a cookie scoop to fill cupcake liners evenly. Bake for about 17 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. While cupcakes are baking, melt chocolate candy melts in the microwave at 30% power in 30-second intervals until smooth.
  5. Transfer melted chocolate to a piping bag fitted with a #4 tip and pipe “Y”-shaped antlers onto parchment paper. Let them cool and harden.
  6. Once cupcakes are done, let them cool completely on a wire rack for 15–20 minutes.
  7. Prepare decorating bags: fill one with brown icing (with #10 tip), another with red icing (with #10 tip), and one with black icing (with #4 tip).
  8. Swirl brown icing on top of each cupcake, starting from the outside and moving inward.
  9. Insert two chocolate antlers into the top of each cupcake.
  10. Use black icing to pipe two small eyes or place eyeball sprinkles.
  11. Finish by piping a red nose with icing or using a red M&M.

Notes

  • Make extra chocolate antlers—they’re delicate and can break easily.
  • Use pretzels as a fun and crunchy alternative to chocolate antlers.
  • Store decorated cupcakes in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • Use chilled frosting for neater piping and structure.
