Description

The Smash Burger Quesadilla is a healthy, low-carb twist on a classic burger, combining the crispy, cheesy goodness of a quesadilla with the savory flavors of a smash burger. It’s easy to make, satisfying, and packed with protein while being lighter on calories. Perfect for anyone looking for a delicious, healthier burger alternative.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 ounces 95% lean ground beef
  • 1 Mission Carb Balance tortilla
  • 2 slices reduced-fat American cheese
  • Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste

Instructions

  1. Weigh the ground beef into two 3-ounce portions, rolling each portion into a ball.
  2. Place one ball of meat between two sheets of parchment paper and smash it using a frying pan. Repeat with the second ball.
  3. Season each burger with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Cook the burgers in a frying pan over medium heat for 3 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. Add cheese to the burgers during the last minute of cooking to allow it to melt.
  5. While the burgers are cooking, fold the tortilla in half and spray a pan with cooking spray. Heat the tortilla until golden on both sides.
  6. Once the burgers are done, cut the tortilla in half and place one burger patty on each side. Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For a different flavor, you can use ground turkey or chicken instead of lean beef.
  • To make it gluten-free, substitute the tortilla with a gluten-free option.
  • Feel free to add extra toppings like lettuce, tomato, or pickles to enhance the flavor.
  • If making ahead, store the patties and tortillas separately in the fridge for up to 3 days.
