- 2 cubes of butter, softened (1 cup)
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 15 oz. can pumpkin puree
- ½ cup sour cream
- 2 cups flour
- ½ tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. ground cloves
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- ½ tsp. nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour two 9×5 loaf pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the pumpkin puree and sour cream until smooth and well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until incorporated.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared loaf pans.
- Bake for 65 to 75 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
Notes
- If the top of the bread browns too quickly, cover it loosely with foil to prevent burning.
- For a richer texture, you can add a bit more sour cream.
- Wrap the bread tightly in plastic wrap to store it for up to 4 days at room temperature.
- If you want to freeze the bread, wrap it well in cellophane after it cools completely and store it in the freezer for up to 3 months.
