Description

A moist, beginner-friendly Southern Peach Bread made with fresh or canned peaches, ideal for breakfast, snacks, or dessert. Quick, flavorful, and easy to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup peaches, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking pan(s) by greasing or lining with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine diced peaches, vegetable oil, sugar, eggs, sour cream, and vanilla extract. Mix until well blended.
  3. Add flour, baking soda, and salt to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined—do not overmix.
  4. Pour the batter evenly into prepared loaf pan(s), smoothing the top.
  5. Bake for 25–30 minutes for mini loaves or 50–55 minutes for a large loaf, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • If using canned or frozen peaches, be sure to drain or blot excess moisture.
  • To enhance the peach flavor, add an extra 1/2 cup of diced peaches or a spoonful of peach puree.
  • Use a serrated knife for cleaner slices, especially if the bread is warm.
  • For a twist, add a teaspoon of cinnamon or a streusel topping before baking.
