Description
A moist, beginner-friendly Southern Peach Bread made with fresh or canned peaches, ideal for breakfast, snacks, or dessert. Quick, flavorful, and easy to make.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup peaches, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking pan(s) by greasing or lining with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine diced peaches, vegetable oil, sugar, eggs, sour cream, and vanilla extract. Mix until well blended.
- Add flour, baking soda, and salt to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined—do not overmix.
- Pour the batter evenly into prepared loaf pan(s), smoothing the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes for mini loaves or 50–55 minutes for a large loaf, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- If using canned or frozen peaches, be sure to drain or blot excess moisture.
- To enhance the peach flavor, add an extra 1/2 cup of diced peaches or a spoonful of peach puree.
- Use a serrated knife for cleaner slices, especially if the bread is warm.
- For a twist, add a teaspoon of cinnamon or a streusel topping before baking.
