Description

A quick and healthy Ultimate Shrimp Spaghetti recipe that’s perfect for beginner cooks. Simple, flavorful, and ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz spaghetti or fettuccine
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley or basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: Lemon juice, red pepper flakes, cherry tomatoes, or spinach

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, about 8–10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden, but not burnt.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 3–4 minutes, turning once, until pink and opaque.
  4. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the shrimp. Toss together gently, adding a bit of reserved pasta water to help coat the pasta evenly.
  5. Stir in fresh herbs and any optional add-ins like lemon juice or grated Parmesan. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed, then serve immediately.

Notes

  • Thaw frozen shrimp in cold water if using pre-frozen.
  • Don’t overcook shrimp—they’re done when pink and slightly curled.
  • Use gluten-free or alternative noodles if needed.
  • Add lemon juice or chili flakes for extra brightness or spice.
  • Reheat gently to avoid rubbery shrimp.
