Description
A quick and healthy Ultimate Shrimp Spaghetti recipe that’s perfect for beginner cooks. Simple, flavorful, and ready in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 oz spaghetti or fettuccine
- 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley or basil, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: Grated Parmesan cheese
- Optional: Lemon juice, red pepper flakes, cherry tomatoes, or spinach
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, about 8–10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden, but not burnt.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 3–4 minutes, turning once, until pink and opaque.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the shrimp. Toss together gently, adding a bit of reserved pasta water to help coat the pasta evenly.
- Stir in fresh herbs and any optional add-ins like lemon juice or grated Parmesan. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed, then serve immediately.
Notes
- Thaw frozen shrimp in cold water if using pre-frozen.
- Don’t overcook shrimp—they’re done when pink and slightly curled.
- Use gluten-free or alternative noodles if needed.
- Add lemon juice or chili flakes for extra brightness or spice.
- Reheat gently to avoid rubbery shrimp.
