Description

Soft, fluffy, and ready in minutes, these easy Yogurt Flatbreads 2 basic ingredients require only three ingredients and no yeast. Perfect for wraps, dipping, or serving alongside your favorite meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups self-raising flour (or 2 cups all-purpose flour + 3 tsp baking powder)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1⅔ cups Greek yogurt

Instructions

  1. Make the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the self-raising flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the Greek yogurt. Mix with a spoon or your hands until a rough dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough: Lightly flour your work surface and transfer the dough onto it. Knead gently for about 2 minutes until it becomes smooth and slightly elastic. Avoid over-kneading to keep the flatbreads soft.
  3. Divide and shape: Cut the dough into six equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball, then use a rolling pin to flatten them into thin, round discs about 8-10 inches in diameter. Keep the surface well-floured to prevent sticking.
  4. Preheat the pan: Heat a dry cast-iron skillet or non-stick pan over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes. The pan should be hot before cooking to ensure the flatbreads puff up properly.
  5. Cook the flatbreads: Place one rolled-out flatbread onto the hot skillet. Cook for about a minute until bubbles form on the surface and the bottom turns golden brown. Flip and cook for another minute on the other side. Repeat with the remaining flatbreads, keeping the cooked ones covered with a clean towel to retain their softness.
  6. Serve and enjoy: Enjoy the flatbreads warm with dips, wraps, or as a side to your favorite dishes. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container and reheated in a dry pan for a few seconds on each side.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, brush the cooked flatbreads with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic, herbs, or sea salt.
  • These flatbreads work well as a pizza base. Top with sauce, cheese, and toppings, then bake at 375°F for 10 minutes.
  • To make them dairy-free, substitute Greek yogurt with a thick plant-based yogurt like coconut or almond.
