Description

Zucchini Cheddar Cheese Herb Beer Bread is a savory, easy-to-make bread that combines the flavors of fresh zucchini, cheddar cheese, garlic, and herbs, all brought together with the subtle notes of beer. It’s the perfect quick bread to serve alongside soups, stews, or as a snack on its own.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon Granulated Garlic
  • 1 cup Grated Cheddar Cheese
  • 3/4 cup Grated Zucchini
  • 3 tablespoons Chopped Chives
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 12 ounces Favorite Beer (e.g., IPA)
  • 3 tablespoons Butter (melted, plus extra for greasing pan)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9″ x 5″ loaf pan with butter.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated garlic.
  3. Add cheddar cheese, zucchini, and chives to the mixture, and drizzle honey over the top.
  4. Pour in the beer and stir until the dough is combined.
  5. Transfer the dough to the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
  6. Brush the top of the dough with the melted butter.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 55-70 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan before removing it. Run a knife along the edges to release the bread.

Notes

  • If the top of the bread browns too quickly, cover it with foil and continue baking until fully cooked.
  • For a gluten-free version, swap the all-purpose flour for a gluten-free flour blend.
  • If you’re not a fan of beer, you can use sparkling water or a non-alcoholic beer as a substitute.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to three months.
