Description

Baked Lemon Garlic Butter Salmon is a quick, flavorful dish that combines tender, flaky salmon with a zesty, buttery lemon garlic glaze. It’s the perfect easy recipe for busy weeknights, offering a delicious and satisfying meal in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tsp freshly minced garlic
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp sea salt flakes
  • ½ tsp freshly cracked black pepper, plus extra to serve
  • ½ tsp chili (red pepper) flakes (optional)
  • 4 skin-on salmon fillets
  • To Serve: Freezer-friendly mashed potatoes, steamed greens or leafy green salad, fresh lemon slices, fresh flat-leaf parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F) and ensure it is preheated for at least 20 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, honey, paprika, oregano, salt, pepper, and chili flakes (if using). Stir to mix well.
  3. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in a roasting pan and spoon the lemon garlic butter mixture evenly over the salmon.
  4. Bake the salmon for 12 minutes.
  5. Turn the oven broiler to high and broil the salmon for an additional 3 minutes, or until the top is golden and caramelized to your liking.
  6. Remove the salmon from the oven, and serve with mashed potatoes, steamed greens or a green leafy salad, extra black pepper, lemon slices, and fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Frozen salmon works perfectly as long as it’s thawed and patted dry before cooking.
  • If using thinner fish fillets, adjust the cooking time to 8–10 minutes.
  • The lemon garlic butter marinade can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to three days.
  • Leftover salmon can be stored in the fridge for up to two days and can be reheated in the oven or enjoyed cold in salads.
