Description

Cajun Garlic Butter Steak Bites are a delicious and quick dish made with tender steak bites seasoned with homemade Cajun spices and finished in a rich garlic butter sauce. Perfect for a quick dinner or a fun appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 lbs steak (sirloin, ribeye, or strip steak)
  • 1 Tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (or less to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp light brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic (minced or grated)
  • Minced fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Slice steak into roughly 2″ pieces and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, combine all Cajun seasoning ingredients and toss with steak bites to coat evenly.
  3. Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat until very hot, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add 1 Tbsp of vegetable oil to the skillet, swirling to coat. Sear half the steak pieces for about 2 minutes on each side, then set aside on a plate.
  5. Repeat the searing process with the remaining steak pieces, adding the remaining vegetable oil as needed.
  6. Reduce heat to medium-low and add butter to the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the pan with a wooden spoon.
  7. Once the butter melts, add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds, then return steak bites to the skillet. Stir to coat with the garlic butter.
  8. Remove from heat and serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add more cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the seasoning blend.
  • If you prefer a more subtle garlic flavor, use fewer garlic cloves.
  • Ensure the skillet is preheated before adding the steak for a perfect sear.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for 4-5 days and reheated gently on the stovetop or in the microwave.
