Description

Cannoli Dip

Cannoli Dip is a creamy no-bake Italian-inspired dessert made with ricotta cheese, cream cheese, confectioners’ sugar, vanilla, and mini chocolate chips. It delivers the classic flavor of cannoli filling in an easy-to-serve dip that pairs perfectly with cookies, waffle cones, and fresh fruit.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (245g) ricotta cheese, well drained
  • 8 oz (226g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (120g) confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup (135g) mini chocolate chips, divided
  • 1 teaspoon (2g) orange zest (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon (0.5g) ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons (16g) chopped pistachios for garnish (optional)
  • 1 cup (50g) waffle cone pieces for serving
  • 1 cup (85g) graham cracker pieces for serving
  • 1 cup (100g) vanilla wafer cookies for serving
  • 1 cup (150g) fresh strawberries or mixed fruit for serving

Instructions

  1. Drain the ricotta cheese thoroughly to remove excess moisture.
  2. Beat the softened cream cheese in a large mixing bowl until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add the drained ricotta cheese and mix until fully combined.
  4. Gradually add the confectioners’ sugar while mixing until smooth.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract, orange zest, and cinnamon if using.
  6. Fold in 1/2 cup (90g) of the mini chocolate chips.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a serving bowl and smooth the top.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup (45g) mini chocolate chips and optional pistachios over the top.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  10. Serve with waffle cone pieces, graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or fresh fruit.

Notes

  • Drain ricotta well for the thickest texture.
  • Use full-fat dairy products for the creamiest Cannoli Dip.
  • Chill before serving to improve flavor and consistency.
  • Add citrus zest for a more authentic cannoli flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Do not freeze, as the texture may become grainy after thawing.
