Description

Frozen Chocolate Banana Pops are a simple, refreshing dessert made with ripe bananas dipped in melted chocolate and topped with fun toppings like sprinkles or nuts. These easy frozen treats are naturally sweet, creamy, and perfect for summer snacks, kids’ desserts, or a healthier alternative to ice cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 4 popsicle sticks
  • 3/4 cup dairy-free chocolate chips (or semi-sweet chocolate chips)
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 3 tablespoons sprinkles or preferred toppings (chopped nuts, shredded coconut, crushed cookies, or dried fruit)

Instructions

  1. Peel the bananas and slice a small piece from the bottom of each banana to create a flat base.
  2. Insert a popsicle stick halfway into each banana to form the pops.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the bananas on top.
  4. Freeze the bananas for about 2 hours, or until completely frozen.
  5. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil.
  6. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  7. Remove the frozen bananas from the freezer and dip each banana into the melted chocolate, turning to coat evenly.
  8. Immediately sprinkle your desired toppings over the chocolate before it hardens.
  9. Place the coated bananas back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  10. Return the tray to the freezer for 10–15 minutes, or until the chocolate shell is fully set.
  11. Serve immediately or store in the freezer until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • Use bananas that are ripe but still firm so the popsicle sticks stay secure.
  • Freeze the bananas fully before dipping to help the chocolate harden quickly.
  • Add toppings immediately after dipping since the chocolate coating sets fast.
  • For extra flavor, drizzle white chocolate or peanut butter over the finished pops.
  • Store each pop wrapped in parchment paper inside an airtight container to prevent sticking.
  • Frozen Chocolate Banana Pops can be stored in the freezer for up to 1 week.
