Ghost cookies are a spooky and fun Halloween treat made with chocolate chunk cookies, marshmallows, and sweet icing. They are easy to make, family-friendly, and perfect for celebrating the Halloween season with a delicious and creative twist.
Ingredients
Scale
- 175g icing sugar
- 1 x 200g pack chocolate chunk cookies
- 9 marshmallows (regular size)
- Black writing icing
Instructions
- Sift the icing sugar into a large bowl and add 5 teaspoons of water to create a thick but pourable icing.
- Set out the chocolate chunk cookies on a sheet of baking paper or a wooden board.
- Dip the bottom of each marshmallow into the icing and place it on the center of each cookie, pressing gently to secure.
- Drizzle the white icing over each marshmallow, allowing it to drip down the sides of the cookie.
- Let the cookies set for a few minutes to allow the icing to firm up.
- Use black writing icing to draw spooky eyes and a mouth on each marshmallow to create the ghostly faces.
- Allow the cookies to set completely before serving or storing them.
Notes
- Be sure to sift the icing sugar well to avoid lumps.
- When drizzling the icing, don’t overdo it; a light drizzle gives the best look.
- Store leftover cookies in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature.
- For a fun twist, consider adding edible glitter or sprinkles to the marshmallows before icing them.
