Description

Greek Chicken Meatballs are juicy, flavorful, and easy to make with lean ground chicken, fresh herbs, garlic, and lemon zest. These Mediterranean-inspired meatballs are perfect for quick dinners, meal prep, or serving with tzatziki, pita, or fresh salads.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup almond flour or breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F or heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, garlic, red onion, parsley, oregano, lemon zest, egg, almond flour or breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into evenly sized meatballs using your hands or a scoop.
  4. For baking, place meatballs on a lined baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and bake for 18–20 minutes until fully cooked.
  5. For stovetop cooking, heat olive oil in a skillet and cook meatballs for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally until browned and cooked through.
  6. Ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F, then remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes.
  7. Serve warm with tzatziki, pita, or a fresh salad.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the meat mixture to keep the meatballs tender.
  • Wet your hands slightly when shaping to prevent sticking.
  • You can substitute ground turkey for ground chicken.
  • Almond flour works well as a gluten-free option.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • Freeze cooked meatballs for up to 3 months for easy meal prep.
