Description
Grilled Honey Balsamic Glazed Fruit is a simple summer dessert featuring juicy peaches or nectarines brushed with a sweet and tangy honey balsamic glaze, then grilled until caramelized and tender. Perfect served warm on its own or paired with vanilla ice cream for a light yet flavorful finish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 dash salt
- 6 medium peaches or nectarines, halved and pitted
- 1 scoop vanilla ice cream per serving (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar, honey, and salt over low heat. Stir for 2–3 minutes until blended.
- Reserve about 1/3 cup of the honey balsamic mixture for brushing onto the fruit during grilling.
- Bring the remaining glaze to a gentle boil over medium heat and cook for 4–6 minutes until slightly thickened. Do not overcook. Remove from heat.
- Preheat a grill to medium heat and lightly grease the grill grates to prevent sticking.
- Brush the cut sides of peaches or nectarines with some of the reserved glaze.
- Place fruit cut-side down on the grill and cook for 6–8 minutes per side, brushing occasionally with remaining glaze until caramelized and tender.
- Remove fruit from the grill and drizzle with the thickened balsamic glaze.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.
Notes
- Choose ripe but firm peaches or nectarines for best grilling results.
- Do not grill over high heat, as honey may burn quickly.
- Try pineapple, pears, or plums as fruit alternatives.
- Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Enjoy leftovers chilled or reheated over yogurt, pancakes, or oatmeal.
