Description

Hershey’s Red Velvet Blossoms Cookies are soft, buttery, and infused with the classic red velvet flavor, topped with a Hershey’s Kiss for a festive touch. These cookies are perfect for any holiday or special occasion and are easy to make in a small batch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 7 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1/4 tsp red food coloring gel
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup red sanding sugar
  • 18 Hershey’s chocolate kisses

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a stand mixer until smooth.
  3. Add the egg yolk, vanilla extract, and red food coloring. Mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually add in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt, mixing until the dough comes together.
  5. Using a tablespoon, scoop 18 equal portions of dough and roll them into balls.
  6. Roll each dough ball in red sanding sugar until fully coated.
  7. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  8. Bake for 10 minutes, or until the edges are slightly golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.

Notes

  • For a variation, you can use white chocolate Hershey’s Kisses instead of the milk chocolate ones.
  • If you don’t have red sanding sugar, you can use thicker granulated sugar for a similar effect.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate them for up to a week.
  • Make sure to press the Hershey’s Kisses gently into the cookies to prevent them from cracking.
