Description

Italian Cream Cheese Stuffed Celery is a quick and flavorful appetizer made with crisp celery filled with a creamy mixture of cream cheese, Italian seasoning, parmesan, bacon bits, and green onions. This no-cook snack is perfect for parties, holiday gatherings, or a refreshing low-carb appetizer that combines crunchy texture with savory Italian flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 large celery stalks, washed and cut into 34 inch pieces
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 packet (0.7 oz / 20 g) dry Italian dressing mix
  • 1/4 cup (25 g) grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) bacon bits
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Wash the celery stalks thoroughly under cold water. Trim the ends and cut them into 3 to 4 inch pieces to create bite-sized celery boats.
  2. Place the celery pieces on a paper towel and allow them to dry completely so the filling sticks better.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese and mayonnaise.
  4. Mix the cream cheese and mayonnaise together using a spoon or hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
  5. Add the dry Italian dressing mix and stir well so the herbs and spices are evenly distributed.
  6. Mix in the grated parmesan cheese, bacon bits, and chopped green onions.
  7. Stir everything together until the filling becomes well combined and creamy.
  8. Using a spoon or piping bag, fill each celery piece with the cream cheese mixture.
  9. Arrange the stuffed celery on a serving platter.
  10. Refrigerate the Italian Cream Cheese Stuffed Celery for about 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to blend.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened at room temperature for easier mixing and a smoother filling.
  • Pat the celery dry after washing to prevent the filling from becoming watery.
  • You can pipe the filling using a piping bag with a star tip for a more decorative presentation.
  • For a vegetarian version, omit the bacon bits or replace them with chopped olives or roasted red peppers.
  • The cream cheese mixture can be prepared up to 2 days ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
  • Stuff the celery shortly before serving to maintain the best crunch.
