Description
This easy nectarine crumble combines juicy, ripe nectarines with a buttery, crunchy topping, perfect for summer desserts or cozy family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4–5 ripe nectarines (about 1 lb / 450 g): peeled and sliced for juicy sweetness
- 1 cup (120 g) all-purpose flour: base for the crumbly topping
- 1 cup (90 g) rolled oats: adds texture and a nutty flavor
- 1/2 cup (100 g) brown sugar: enhances sweetness and caramel notes
- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter: provides richness and tender crumble texture
- 1 tsp (2.5 g) ground cinnamon: adds warm, aromatic flavor
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) lemon juice: brightens the fruit and balances sweetness
- 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract: enhances the natural flavor of nectarines
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a bowl, toss sliced nectarines with lemon juice, a small amount of sugar, and vanilla extract until evenly coated.
- In another bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
- Spread nectarine mixture evenly in the baking dish and sprinkle crumble topping over it.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until the topping is golden and fruit is bubbling.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
Notes
- Use ripe nectarines for natural sweetness and minimal added sugar.
- Keep the crumble topping crumbly; overmixing reduces texture.
- For gluten-free, substitute flour with almond or oat flour.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat to restore crispiness.
