Description

Homemade Orange Creamsicle Ice Cream is a creamy, refreshing dessert with a perfect blend of fresh orange juice and vanilla, reminiscent of the classic popsicle treat. Easy to make and full of wholesome ingredients, this ice cream is a perfect indulgence for any season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon orange extract
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine heavy cream, sugar, freshly squeezed orange juice, whole milk, orange extract, and vanilla extract. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  2. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to achieve the perfect pale orange shade.
  3. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
  4. Transfer the ice cream to a container, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface, and cover tightly.
  5. Freeze for 4-6 hours or overnight to allow the ice cream to harden.
  6. Allow the ice cream to sit for a couple of minutes before serving. Scoop and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a stronger orange flavor, add 1 tablespoon of orange zest to the mixture before churning.
  • Use freshly squeezed orange juice for the best flavor.
  • If you don’t have an ice cream maker, follow the no-churn method by whipping the heavy cream and folding it into a mixture of condensed milk, orange juice, and extracts.
  • Store leftover ice cream in an airtight container with a layer of plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface to avoid ice crystals.
