Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon orange extract
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine heavy cream, sugar, freshly squeezed orange juice, whole milk, orange extract, and vanilla extract. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to achieve the perfect pale orange shade.
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
- Transfer the ice cream to a container, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface, and cover tightly.
- Freeze for 4-6 hours or overnight to allow the ice cream to harden.
- Allow the ice cream to sit for a couple of minutes before serving. Scoop and enjoy!
Notes
- For a stronger orange flavor, add 1 tablespoon of orange zest to the mixture before churning.
- Use freshly squeezed orange juice for the best flavor.
- If you don’t have an ice cream maker, follow the no-churn method by whipping the heavy cream and folding it into a mixture of condensed milk, orange juice, and extracts.
- Store leftover ice cream in an airtight container with a layer of plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface to avoid ice crystals.
