- 1 1/2 cups (190 g) all-purpose flour (if making homemade cookie dough)
- 1/2 tsp baking soda (if making homemade cookie dough)
- 1/4 tsp salt (if making homemade cookie dough)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Prepare the brownie batter by mixing the brownie mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water until smooth.
- Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Arrange 16 Oreo cookies evenly across the brownie layer, gently pressing them into the batter.
- Prepare chocolate chip cookie dough or use ready-made dough. Stir in chocolate chips if desired.
- Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough over the Oreo layer and gently spread without fully covering every gap.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes or until edges are lightly golden and the center appears mostly set.
- Check doneness with a toothpick inserted into the cookie portion; a few moist crumbs are ideal.
- Cool in the pan for at least 20–30 minutes before slicing into bars.
- Serve warm for gooey texture or cooled for cleaner slices and firmer layers.
Notes
- Avoid overbaking to keep Oreo Brookies fudgy and chewy.
- Let brookies cool before slicing for neater presentation.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
- Freeze individual slices for up to 2 months for easy desserts later.
- Try double-stuffed Oreos or dark chocolate chips for extra richness.
- Warm slices in the microwave for 10–15 seconds before serving for a gooey texture.
