Description

This Ranch Chicken Crock Pot recipe is a creamy, effortless dinner that combines tender chicken breasts with the rich, savory flavor of ranch seasoning. It’s a perfect meal for busy nights, requiring minimal prep time while delivering maximum taste and comfort. Serve it over rice, mashed potatoes, or in wraps for a satisfying, versatile meal your family will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional for searing)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. If desired, heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. This step adds extra flavor but is optional.
  2. In the crockpot, add the cream of chicken soup, ranch seasoning, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir until well combined.
  3. Place the chicken breasts into the crockpot and coat them with the sauce mixture.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  5. Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks and stir it into the creamy sauce.
  6. Stir in the sour cream for extra creaminess and flavor.
  7. Serve with shredded cheddar cheese and fresh parsley, if desired.

Notes

  • You can use frozen chicken breasts, just extend the cooking time by an hour.
  • If you prefer, substitute sour cream with cream cheese for a richer sauce.
  • Add frozen veggies like peas or carrots to make this a one-pot meal.
  • If you like it spicy, add hot sauce or cayenne pepper to the sauce.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
