Description

This Red Velvet Cheesecake Swirl Cake combines the richness of red velvet cake with a creamy cheesecake swirl and smooth cream cheese frosting. Easy to make with a boxed mix, this moist and tangy dessert is perfect for holidays, celebrations, or any time you crave a decadent treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 15.25 oz red velvet cake mix (Betty Crocker recommended)
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 8 oz cream cheese (for swirl)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg white
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened (for frosting)
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. Prepare the red velvet cake mix according to package directions and set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat together 8 oz cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1 egg white until smooth.
  4. Pour half of the red velvet cake batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the batter and swirl gently with a knife.
  6. Add the remaining red velvet cake batter on top and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
  8. Let the cake cool completely before frosting.
  9. For the frosting, beat together 8 oz softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  10. Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled cake, slice, and serve.

Notes

  • Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting to prevent melting.
  • Store leftover cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Use a homemade red velvet batter if preferred; ensure it has a similar consistency.
  • Top with festive sprinkles or drizzle with chocolate for a special touch.
