Ingredients

- Granulated sugar – 3/4 cup
- Egg yolk – 1 large

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg yolk, vanilla extract, milk, and red food coloring until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix just until combined.
- Scoop the dough into evenly sized balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes, until the edges are set and the centers look slightly soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
