Description

Rice Krispie Easter Eggs are colorful, no-bake holiday treats made with crispy rice cereal, melted marshmallows, and butter. Shaped into festive egg forms and tinted with pastel food coloring, these chewy and crunchy desserts are perfect for Easter baskets, dessert tables, and fun family baking activities.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 15 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 15 cups mini marshmallows
  • 15 tablespoons salted butter
  • Food coloring (pink, yellow, green, blue, purple)
  • Optional: sprinkles for decoration
  • Optional: melted chocolate for drizzling or dipping

Instructions

  1. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add 3 cups of mini marshmallows and stir constantly until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Remove the pan from heat and add a few drops of food coloring to create your desired pastel color.
  4. Pour in 3 cups of Rice Krispies cereal and gently stir until the cereal is fully coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  5. Allow the mixture to cool slightly so it is safe to handle but still soft and moldable.
  6. Lightly butter your hands and scoop a portion of the mixture.
  7. Shape the mixture into an oval egg shape using your hands.
  8. Place the formed egg on a parchment-lined tray to cool and set.
  9. Repeat the process for additional colors by making separate batches of marshmallow mixture.
  10. Allow the Rice Krispie Easter Eggs to cool completely before decorating or storing.
  11. If desired, drizzle melted chocolate or add sprinkles for decoration.

  • Use a kitchen scale or scoop to create evenly sized eggs.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
