Description

Santa Hat Jello Shots are festive and fun treats perfect for Christmas parties. Made with strawberry Jell-O, vodka or tequila, whipped cream, and fresh strawberries, these jello shots resemble Santa hats and are as delicious as they are adorable.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Water: used to dissolve the Jell-O powder
  • 1 box (3 oz) Strawberry Jell-O: provides the red color and fruity flavor
  • 1 cup Vodka or flavored vodka (or Tequila): adds the boozy element
  • Reddi Whip or Cool Whip (thawed): forms the Santa hat base and tip
  • 1 pint Fresh Strawberries: acts as the main decoration resembling Santa’s hat

Instructions

  1. Boil 1 cup of water in a saucepan and remove from heat.
  2. Stir in the strawberry Jell-O powder until completely dissolved.
  3. Add 1 cup of vodka (or tequila) and stir well.
  4. Pour the mixture into mini plastic shot cups using a ladle or measuring cup with a spout.
  5. Place the filled cups on a cookie sheet and refrigerate for 2–4 hours or until set.
  6. Hull and clean the strawberries, slicing off the tops so they sit flat.
  7. Just before serving, add a dollop of whipped cream on each set jello shot.
  8. Place a strawberry flat-side down on top of the whipped cream.
  9. Add a small ball of whipped cream to the tip of each strawberry to complete the Santa hat look.

Notes

  • Make jello shots a day ahead but decorate just before serving.
  • Use flavored vodka like strawberry or whipped cream for extra taste.
  • Frozen strawberries can be used if thawed completely.
  • Can be made non-alcoholic by replacing vodka with juice or cold water.
  • Yields approximately 12 shots with a 3 oz box of Jell-O and 2 oz cups.
