With a savory flavor and playful shamrock shape, these crisps are easy to make, customizable, and sure to be a hit at any gathering. Whether served with dips or enjoyed as a snack, these delicious crisps add a fun and flavorful twist to your celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour: Provides the base structure for the dough and creates the crisp texture when baked.
  • 1/2 cup Butter: Adds richness and helps create flaky, tender snack crisps.
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese: Contributes savory flavor and enhances the golden crispiness.
  • 1 tsp Salt: Balances the flavors and enhances the overall taste.
  • 1 tsp Baking powder: Helps create a lighter, crisp texture in the finished crisps.
  • 1/4 cup Cold water: Brings the dough together while keeping it firm and easy to roll.
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley or chives: Adds natural green color and subtle herbal flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder: Gives the Shamrock Shaped Snack Crisps a savory depth.
  • 1/2 tsp Onion powder: Enhances the flavor profile and complements the cheese.
  • 1 tbsp Egg wash or melted butter: Brushed on top to help the crisps bake into a beautiful golden color.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Add cold butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingertips to blend the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Mix in shredded cheese and finely chopped herbs such as parsley or chives.
  5. Gradually add cold water while mixing until a soft dough forms.
  6. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out to about 1/8 inch thickness.
  7. Using a shamrock-shaped cookie cutter, cut the dough into clover shapes.
  8. Transfer each piece onto the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Brush the tops lightly with melted butter or egg wash.
  10. Bake for 10–14 minutes or until the edges turn lightly golden and the crisps become firm.
  11. Remove from the oven and allow the snack crisps to cool on a wire rack.

Notes

  • If the dough becomes too soft while working with it, place it in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes.
  • Roll the dough thin to achieve a crispy texture.
  • Store cooled snack crisps in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days.
  • Feel free to add more cheese or herbs to customize the flavor.
