Description

These Soft Chewy Cookie Monster Cookies are packed with white and semi-sweet chocolate chips, crushed mini cookies, and a surprise whole Oreo center. Perfect for themed parties or fun weekend baking, this easy and eye-catching treat delivers flavor, texture, and nostalgia in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 120 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 50 g light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Blue gel food coloring
  • 230 g all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 40 g semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 40 g white chocolate chips
  • 30 g crushed mini cookies (e.g., Chips Ahoy)
  • 3 Oreo cookies, chopped
  • 12 whole Oreo cookies

Instructions

  1. Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with the granulated sugar and brown sugar for about two minutes until the mixture is pale, fluffy, and smooth.
  2. Add Wet Ingredients: Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and a few drops of blue gel food coloring. Continue mixing until the batter becomes a uniform vibrant blue.
  3. Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into the wet mixture and gently fold it all together using a spatula just until combined—do not overmix to keep the cookies soft.
  4. Mix in the Goodies: Stir in the white and semi-sweet chocolate chips, chopped Oreos, and crushed mini cookies until they’re evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  5. Chill the Dough: Cover the dough with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm it up and enhance the flavor.
  6. Assemble the Cookies: Scoop out a portion of dough and flatten it in your palm. Place a whole Oreo cookie in the center and gently fold the dough over it, sealing the edges so the Oreo is completely hidden.
  7. Bake the Cookies: Arrange the dough balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between each. Chill again briefly while the oven preheats to 180°C (350°F). Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the edges are golden but the centers remain soft and puffy.
  8. Cool and Enjoy: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. For added charm, press edible candy eyes into the warm cookies to complete the Cookie Monster look.
