Ingredients
Scale
- 120 g unsalted butter, softened
- 100 g granulated sugar
- 50 g light brown sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Blue gel food coloring
- 230 g all-purpose flour
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 40 g semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 40 g white chocolate chips
- 30 g crushed mini cookies (e.g., Chips Ahoy)
- 3 Oreo cookies, chopped
- 12 whole Oreo cookies
Instructions
- Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with the granulated sugar and brown sugar for about two minutes until the mixture is pale, fluffy, and smooth.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and a few drops of blue gel food coloring. Continue mixing until the batter becomes a uniform vibrant blue.
- Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into the wet mixture and gently fold it all together using a spatula just until combined—do not overmix to keep the cookies soft.
- Mix in the Goodies: Stir in the white and semi-sweet chocolate chips, chopped Oreos, and crushed mini cookies until they’re evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Chill the Dough: Cover the dough with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm it up and enhance the flavor.
- Assemble the Cookies: Scoop out a portion of dough and flatten it in your palm. Place a whole Oreo cookie in the center and gently fold the dough over it, sealing the edges so the Oreo is completely hidden.
- Bake the Cookies: Arrange the dough balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between each. Chill again briefly while the oven preheats to 180°C (350°F). Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the edges are golden but the centers remain soft and puffy.
- Cool and Enjoy: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. For added charm, press edible candy eyes into the warm cookies to complete the Cookie Monster look.
