Description

Stick of Butter Rice is a rich, creamy, and savory side dish that’s perfect for any meal. This easy-to-make recipe combines long-grain white rice, butter, chicken broth, and onion soup mix to create a comforting and flavorful dish everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a baking dish, combine the rice and butter, stirring to coat the rice with butter.
  3. Add the onion soup mix, chicken broth, and water. Stir to combine the ingredients.
  4. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  5. After 45 minutes, check the rice. If the rice is tender and liquid absorbed, fluff it with a fork. If needed, return to the oven for another 5-10 minutes.
  6. Once done, let the rice rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, substitute brown rice for white rice and adjust cooking time.
  • Use vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge.
  • If you prefer a creamier texture, you can add a bit of cream or sour cream after baking.
