Description

Sweet potato crust pizza is a healthy, gluten-free alternative to traditional pizza. Made with a nutrient-packed sweet potato crust, this dish is perfect for those looking for a wholesome yet indulgent meal. It’s quick to prepare, highly customizable, and perfect for any occasion. With a crispy, golden crust and your favorite pizza toppings, this pizza is both satisfying and delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups grated sweet potato
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce (optional)
  • Vegetable toppings of choice (e.g., spinach, bell peppers, onions)
  • Protein toppings of choice (e.g., grilled chicken, sausage, pepperoni)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Peel and grate the sweet potato, yielding about 1 ½ cups of grated sweet potato.
  3. In a pan over medium heat, sauté the grated sweet potato for 5-7 minutes until softened.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the sautéed sweet potato, almond flour, eggs, olive oil, garlic powder, and salt. Stir until everything is well combined.
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the sweet potato mixture into a round or rectangular shape.
  6. Bake the crust for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and firm.
  7. Once baked, remove the crust from the oven and top with tomato sauce, cheese, and any desired toppings.
  8. Return the pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the toppings are cooked.
  9. Allow the pizza to cool slightly, slice, and enjoy!

Notes

  • If you want a crispier crust, bake the crust longer before adding the toppings.
  • Feel free to experiment with different vegetables and proteins to suit your taste.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • For a dairy-free version, use dairy-free cheese or skip the cheese entirely.
