Description

These easy taco tortilla roll-ups are a flavorful, no-bake appetizer perfect for parties, game days, or quick snacks. Made with cream cheese, taco seasoning, and fresh ingredients, they’re rolled into soft tortillas, chilled, and sliced into bite-sized pinwheels. Perfectly customizable and easy to prepare, this recipe is a must-try for taco lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 large flour tortillas
  • 8 oz (1 package) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup diced tomatoes, drained
  • ¼ cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Mix the Filling: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  2. Add the Ingredients: Fold in the shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, black olives, and green onions, making sure everything is evenly distributed.
  3. Spread the Mixture: Lay out a flour tortilla on a flat surface and spread a thin, even layer of the taco-flavored filling across the entire surface, leaving about half an inch of space around the edges.
  4. Roll the Tortilla: Starting from one end, roll the tortilla tightly into a log, pressing gently as you go to keep the filling in place. Repeat the process with the remaining tortillas and filling.
  5. Chill Before Slicing: Wrap each rolled tortilla in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help firm them up and make slicing easier.
  6. Slice and Serve: Once chilled, use a sharp knife to cut each roll into 1-inch slices. Arrange them on a platter and serve immediately or store in the fridge until ready to eat.

Notes

  • Chilling the rolls before slicing ensures clean cuts and prevents the filling from oozing out.
  • Whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas can be used as substitutes, but warming them slightly makes rolling easier.
  • For an extra flavor boost, add a tablespoon of salsa or diced jalapeños to the filling mixture.
  • Serve with guacamole, salsa, or a creamy dip to enhance the taste.
