Description

This Toasted Italian Sandwich is packed with layers of savory deli meats, creamy mozzarella, and tangy sun-dried tomatoes, all complemented by a generous spread of pesto sauce. It’s a quick and satisfying meal, perfect for lunch, dinner, or even as a game-day snack. The combination of rich flavors and crispy bread makes it a hit with everyone.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Ciabatta roll
  • 1 tablespoon pesto sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chopped sun-dried tomatoes
  • 2 slices fresh mozzarella
  • 3 slices Ham
  • 1 slice Salami
  • 1 slice Cracked Black Pepper Salami
  • 1 slice Pepperoni
  • 1 slice Turkey Pepperoni

Instructions

  1. Cut the ciabatta roll in half and toast both halves in the toaster oven for a few minutes until the edges turn golden and crispy.
  2. Spread pesto sauce evenly on the top half of the toasted roll and layer sun-dried tomatoes on the bottom half.
  3. Layer the meats—ham, salami, black pepper salami, pepperoni, and turkey pepperoni—on the bottom half. Top with mozzarella slices.
  4. Place the bottom half of the sandwich (with the fillings) back into the toaster oven and heat until the mozzarella melts and the meats are warmed through. There’s no need to re-toast the pesto side.
  5. Assemble the sandwich by putting the top half on the bottom, slice in half, and serve warm.

Notes

  • If you want a vegetarian version, swap the meats for grilled vegetables like zucchini, eggplant, and bell peppers.
  • For a lighter version, substitute the ham and salami with turkey or chicken breast.
  • Use a French baguette if ciabatta is unavailable, as it has a similar texture.
  • Store any leftover sandwiches wrapped in aluminum foil and refrigerate. Reheat by toasting the bread again to keep the crunch.
