Description

This Turkey Melt with Cheddar, Spinach, and Bacon is a delicious, easy-to-make sandwich that’s perfect for beginner cooks. Crispy bacon, melty cheddar, and fresh spinach combine in this flavorful recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices sourdough or crusty bread
  • 2 tablespoons honey mustard
  • 2 slices white cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices deli turkey
  • 1 medium red tomato, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup fresh baby spinach
  • 4 strips cooked bacon
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Place 4 slices of sourdough bread on a flat surface. Spread ½ tablespoon of honey mustard on each slice of bread.
  2. Slice the cheddar cheese into 4 portions and place one slice on each piece of bread, over the mustard.
  3. Place 2 slices of deli turkey on top of the cheese on two slices of bread.
  4. Layer thin tomato slices and fresh spinach on top of the turkey.
  5. Place 2 strips of bacon on the remaining slices of bread (with cheese) and close the sandwich.
  6. Spread ½ tablespoon of butter on the outside of each sandwich.
  7. Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwiches in the skillet. Toast each side for 3-4 minutes or until the bread is golden and the cheese has melted.
  8. Once toasted, remove from the skillet and serve hot with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • For a better melt, use freshly sliced cheese instead of pre-packaged slices.
  • If your bread browns too quickly, lower the heat to avoid burning the sandwich before the cheese melts.
  • For a dairy-free version, use dairy-free cheese and butter alternatives.
  • If using leftover turkey, toast the sandwich a bit longer to ensure the turkey heats through.
