Description

These Vegan Strawberry Cream Danishes are flaky, creamy, fruity, and completely dairy- and gluten-free. Perfect for Valentine’s Day, brunch, or an easy dessert, they’re made with ready-to-roll puff pastry, dairy-free cream cheese, and fresh strawberries. Quick to prepare and sure to impress!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 sheets of vegan, gluten-free puff pastry
  • 130g dairy-free cream cheese
  • 15g gluten-free or plain flour
  • 15g caster sugar (plus extra for sprinkling)
  • 4 tablespoons dairy-free milk
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C fan and line two baking trays with greaseproof paper.
  2. Unroll the puff pastry and flatten with a rolling pin to remove wrinkles.
  3. Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out large heart shapes. Use a smaller cutter to press a heart indention in the center without cutting through.
  4. In a bowl, mix dairy-free cream cheese, flour, and sugar until smooth. Transfer to a piping bag or spoon directly onto the pastries.
  5. Top the cream cheese filling with a few slices of fresh strawberries.
  6. Brush the edges of the pastry with dairy-free milk and sprinkle with caster sugar.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10–15 minutes until golden and flaky.
  8. Remove, cool slightly, and dust with icing sugar if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Use chilled cream cheese for the best texture.
  • Do not overfill the danishes to avoid overflow during baking.
  • Brush pastry edges with dairy-free milk and sugar for golden color.
  • Can be served warm or cold.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days; best enjoyed fresh.
