Description

These Watermelon Mint Lime Slushies are a refreshing frozen summer drink made with fresh watermelon, mint, lime juice, and ice. Naturally sweet, vegan, gluten-free, and ready in just minutes, they’re perfect for hot days, parties, or a healthy afternoon refreshment.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups seedless watermelon, cubed (preferably frozen)
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, packed
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 2 limes)
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 12 tablespoons pure maple syrup (optional, to taste)
  • 1 pinch sea salt (optional)
  • Fresh mint sprigs, lime slices, and watermelon wedges for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the watermelon into cubes and freeze for at least 2 hours for the best slushie texture.
  2. Add the frozen watermelon, fresh mint leaves, lime juice, ice cubes, optional maple syrup, and a pinch of sea salt to a high-speed blender.
  3. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and slushy, stopping to scrape down the sides if needed.
  4. Taste and adjust the sweetness by adding more maple syrup if your watermelon is not naturally sweet.
  5. If the mixture is too thick, add a small splash of cold water or coconut water. If it is too thin, blend in a little more ice or frozen watermelon.
  6. Pour immediately into chilled serving glasses.
  7. Garnish with fresh mint sprigs, lime slices, or watermelon wedges if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use ripe, sweet watermelon for the best natural flavor.
  • Frozen watermelon creates a thicker slushie with less dilution.
  • Fresh lime juice provides the brightest flavor.
  • Do not over-blend, as the ice may melt and thin the drink.
  • Store leftovers in the freezer and re-blend before serving.
  • For a tropical variation, add frozen pineapple or mango.
  • Coconut water can replace some of the ice for extra hydration.
